Where does inspiration come from? It’s a question writers are often asked, and everyone has a different answer for it. From book to book, there is often a different answer to the question. My latest release is called JADED HEARTS, my second with Ellora’s Cave, and it’s a virtually re-written short story that was originally published back in 2004. The second time it was issued, it was buried in an anthology that never sold more than a dozen copies, so this version will be very much a new one for anyone who decides to settle in and read it. Longer by almost half, and extensively revised, this was inspired by a small, secondary character from a show I loved about ten years ago. The character made about a half dozen appearances, often on screen for less than two minutes at a time, but he intrigued me–and Carlos D’Alejandro was born in my imagination. I think he’s got a lot more to say, and there is a great adventure waiting to be told, I’m sure.
